Tata Motors Expands Sierra SUV Lineup With 18 New Legend Series Trims Starting at Rs 11.99 Lakh

Tata Motors has introduced the Sierra Legend Series in India, adding 18 new variants across five trim levels with prices starting at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom. The new lineup sits alongside the existing Sierra range, which has been designated the Signature Series, and is engineered to bring high-end comfort and technology features further down the pricing ladder.
The Legend Series follows a structured variant hierarchy spanning the Smart+ L, Pure L, Pure L(O), Pure+ L, and Adventure+ L grades. These models command a premium of Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 over the standard trims they are based on. While basic mechanicals remain unchanged, the expansion introduces luxury appointments to lower price points under Tata strategy to democratize premium features.

Variant Hierarchy and Progressive Feature Upgrades

The entry point for the new lineup is the Smart+ L grade, which replaces utilitarian base-trim expectations with leatherette upholstery, colour-coordinated door trims, soft-touch dashboard elements, and electrically auto-folding outside rearview mirrors. Stepping up to the Pure L brings a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an 8-speaker audio setup, cruise control, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The mid-spec Pure L(O) introduces a panoramic sunroof along with automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Meanwhile, the Pure+ L adds front-seat ventilation, a six-way powered driver seat with a passenger Boss mode, dual-zone automatic climate control, a thigh-support extender, and rear USB-C charging ports. Core safety provisions including six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold remain standard across the board.

Top-Tier Adventure+ L and Powertrain Options

At the peak of the new lineup is the Adventure+ L trim, which incorporates a 360-degree high-definition surround-view system with blind-spot monitoring, front parking sensors, LED fog lamps with cornering functions, and dual 12.3-inch digital displays. It also equips Tata Superglide suspension featuring frequency-dependent damping alongside dedicated terrain modes for normal, wet, and rough conditions.
Powertrain choices across the Legend Series mirror the existing Sierra range, utilizing the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines paired with six-speed manual, automatic, or dual-clutch transmission options depending on the variant. Notably, the Pure+ L now serves as the entry gateway to the 160hp turbo-petrol automatic powertrain, while the Adventure+ L introduces a 106hp petrol dual-clutch option. The standard Sierra Adventure+ trim also gains compatibility with the 1.5-litre petrol dual-clutch gearbox.

Exterior Colourways and Market Availability

The Sierra Legend Series is available in multiple exterior paint options. Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Coorg Clouds are shared across all variants. Munnar Mist is offered from the Pure L grade upward, while Bengal Rouge and Andaman Adventure are reserved for the upper Pure+ L and Adventure+ L trims. The new variants are available alongside the existing Signature Series at Tata dealerships across India.
