Nissan Reveals Pixo Electric City Car for Europe with 259km Range

Nissan has unveiled the Pixo, a new A-segment electric vehicle designed specifically for urban European environments. Developed in partnership with Renault, the compact EV is scheduled for production at Renault's Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia, with customer deliveries expected to commence in early 2027.

The Pixo measures 3,796mm in length and 1,790mm in width, featuring a wheelbase of 2,492mm and a ground clearance of 140mm. Its design language emphasizes cube-like proportions, pixel-style lighting, and a front bumper described by the manufacturer as a robot face. The vehicle is equipped with 18-inch wheels featuring pixel-inspired detailing. Nissan has incorporated several design flourishes, including 23 hidden visual Easter eggs and specific markings inspired by the Japanese pronunciation of the brand name.

Inside, the Pixo features a four-adult seating layout with sliding rear seats that allow for flexible cargo management. The boot offers 356 litres of capacity, which includes a dedicated 50-litre compartment for charging cables, expandable to 1,221 litres with the rear seats folded. The dashboard is vertically stacked, housing a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Technological integration is a core focus, with the inclusion of Google built-in and Google Gemini voice assistance, which supports 16 languages and dialects. The vehicle also features Face ID technology for driver recognition and personalized settings, alongside the MyNissan app for remote vehicle management. Safety systems include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and automated emergency braking.

The Pixo is powered by a 27.5kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a single electric motor producing 60kW, or approximately 82hp. The vehicle offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 259km on a single charge. It supports 50kW DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 15 to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes. Additionally, the car is equipped with 11kW bi-directional AC charging capabilities for home and workplace use.

ISO 15118-20 serves as the bidirectional standard allowing power-flow reversal and managed two-way energy transfer.

The 27.5kWh LFP battery represents the first installation of an LFP battery in a European Nissan model.

Nissan has not yet disclosed pricing for the Pixo. Market-specific specifications, pre-order details, and pricing are expected to be announced in December 2026.
