Aston Martin Cuts India Supercar Prices by Up to Rs 4 Crore Under UK Trade Deal

British luxury automobile manufacturer Aston Martin has revised prices across its seven-model vehicle portfolio in India, NDTV Profit reported. The extensive price restructuring reflects reduced customs tariffs negotiated under the India-UK Free Trade Agreement that took effect in July, NDTV Profit noted. Headline price reductions across the sports car portfolio range from about Rs 1.8 crore on entry models up to multi-crore cuts on top-tier grand tourers, Marksmen Daily reported. The tariff concession dramatically lowers acquisition hurdles for domestic ultra-luxury automotive connoisseurs seeking British high-performance vehicles.
Vanquish Flagship Price Reductions and Portfolio Repricing
The flagship Aston Martin Vanquish Volante receives the biggest price cut across the lineup, falling by up to Rs 4.02 crore, NDTV Profit reported. The convertible V12 model was previously listed at ₹10.92 crore but has been repriced down to ₹6.90 crore under the post-treaty tariff regime, NDTV Profit stated. Similarly, the hardtop Vanquish Coupe saw its showroom price decline from ₹10.11 crore to ₹6.40 crore, reflecting a tariff savings of ₹3.71 crore. The DB12 S grand tourer range was reduced to ₹4.10 crore for the Coupe and ₹4.35 crore for the Volante, while the DBX S performance SUV dropped to ₹4.15 crore.
JLR was the first to reduce prices under the FTA, cutting Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV prices in May, followed by McLaren across the 750S range, according to Autocar India.
Vantage S Accessibility and James Bond Heritage
The entry point to the performance brand, the Vantage S Coupe, is now priced at ₹3.15 crore compared to its previous ₹4.99 crore sticker price, NDTV Profit reported. Its open-top sibling, the Vantage S Roadster, witnessed an equivalent decline from ₹5.26 crore down to ₹3.35 crore across Indian dealerships. Even with the steep price adjustments, Aston Martin models occupy the upper tier of the ultra-luxury segment, where brand recognition remains inextricably linked with cinematic pop culture through James Bond, NDTV Profit noted. Appearances alongside secret agent James Bond established the British marque's global reputation, reinforcing aspirational appeal among wealthy automotive collectors.
The on-road price of the Aston Martin Vantage in Delhi is ₹3.96 crore, according to CarLelo.
Rival brand Bentley started taking orders for the Bentayga at reduced rates, though other models in its domestic portfolio await trade pact qualification, according to Autocar India.
Trade Pact Tariff Schedules and Quota Mechanisms
The duty concessions stem directly from bilateral trade terms where India reduced its basic 110% customs tariff on large-displacement petrol imports down to an initial 30% duty, Marksmen Daily reported. The reduced 30% duty applies to a restricted quota of 10,000 large-engined vehicles across all UK automotive brands in the opening year of implementation, Marksmen Daily noted. Trade schedules specify that over the decade, the preferential tariff will gradually slide towards 10%, expanding pricing advantages for British luxury imports. Automotive analysts anticipate that the trade pact will intensify competition in India's exotic car segment, positioning British performance models more competitively against European rivals.
