Range Rover SV Sawai Collection Debuts in India Priced at 4.90 Crore Rupees

Land Rover has introduced the bespoke Range Rover SV Sawai Collection in India with pricing set at 4.90 crore rupees ex-showroom, according to reporting by Autocar India. The bespoke vehicle series represents the third localized collection developed specifically for the Indian luxury market, following the earlier Ranthambore Edition and Masara Edition. Production is strictly capped at 18 examples worldwide, dividing into six vehicles each for three distinct regional iterations: Sawai Jaipur, Sawai Jodhpur, and Sawai Jaisalmer, CarWale reported. Curated under the Range Rover Bespoke division, the name Sawai draws upon a historic royal title associated with distinction and exceptional capability.
Exterior Craftsmanship and Luxury Specifications
Exterior appointments across the collection feature 23-inch Champagne-finished alloy wheels, silver accents through the Atlas Silver styling pack, and decorative 24-karat gold-plated surrounds framing the brand lettering, Autocar India noted. Each individual cabin incorporates a custom interior plaque bearing the specific model name alongside exclusive 1 of 6 lettering. Based on the long-wheelbase Range Rover SV architecture, the vehicles adopt a four-seat executive cabin layout featuring reclining rear seats equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage capabilities. The ultra-luxury vehicle lineup contends within the elite domestic SUV bracket against models such as the Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and Mercedes-Maybach GLS, CarDekho reported.
In September 2024, JLR launched the Range Rover Ranthambore Edition at 4.98 crore rupees as a limited-run model restricted to 12 units, according to car&bike.
Heritage Themes of Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer
The Sawai Jaipur Edition features a rose-tinted exterior inspired by the terracotta hue of the Pink City, paired with a dual-tone Ecru and Deep Garnet cabin. Interior upholstery incorporates intricate seat embroidery styled after the architectural Jharokha window patterns of the historic Hawa Mahal, alongside white ceramic controls on the centre console. The Sawai Jodhpur Edition showcases a soft blue exterior echoing Rajasthan's Blue City, combined with Perlino and Riviera upholstery and Liberty Blue carpeting, CarWale noted. Monogram embroidery inside the Jodhpur edition draws design cues from traditional stone and wooden Jali screens found across regional fortresses. The Sawai Jaisalmer Edition adopts a golden exterior mimicking desert sandstone fortifications, paired with a Perlino and Caraway duotone interior inspired by artisanal block printing.
Powertrain Architecture and Executive Commentary
Under the hood, the Sawai Collection is powered by a 4.4-litre petrol V8 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, Autocar India reported. Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, stated that the collection reflects the rich cultural character of Rajasthan while honouring the individuality of its heritage cities. Amba noted that the bespoke release demonstrates the growing stature of India as an influential luxury market and creative design destination. JLR India stated that the positive response to previous limited editions highlights sustained domestic client appreciation for highly personalised, culturally rooted vehicles.
The Sawai Collection's 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol V8 engine delivers 537 hp and 750 Nm of torque, linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, according to NDTV Auto.
