Lava Launches Shark 2 Pro 5G Smartphone With 6,000mAh Battery
Lava has launched the Shark 2 Pro 5G in India, expanding its budget smartphone portfolio with a device centered on battery longevity and display performance. Priced at ₹16,699, the handset is available through online and offline retail partners in Akash Blue and Nanda Silver finishes.
Regarding market alternatives, the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G is priced lower at Rs 14,749 amid prevailing RAM conditions. Additionally, in benchmark comparisons, the Unisoc T8200 achieves an AnTuTu 10 score of approximately 470,000, outpacing the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 at 427,000.
According to Beebom, for Lava International, The device represents a dedicated offline retail release sharing core specifications with Lava's online-exclusive Virat V1 Pro 5G.
Hardware and Performance
The Shark 2 Pro 5G is powered by the 6nm Unisoc T8200 octa-core chipset, which includes a 5G modem. The device features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 550 nits in high-brightness mode. Memory configuration is fixed at 6GB of physical RAM, with the option to add up to 6GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a hybrid microSD slot.
Photography capabilities have been upgraded from the previous Shark 2 model, with the new device sporting a 50-megapixel AI-enabled rear sensor capable of 2K video recording at 30fps. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. The handset is rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
Battery and Software Support
A 6,000mAh battery serves as the primary power source, supporting 18W wired charging. According to reported specifications, a full charge from zero to 100 percent requires approximately two hours and 40 minutes. The device ships with Android 16 and includes Lava's proprietary Vayu AI assistant. The company has committed to one major OS upgrade to Android 17 and two years of security patches. Lava is also bundling the purchase with its Free Service@Home program and a one-year replacement warranty on the handset, with six months of coverage for accessories.
According to 91mobiles, for Lava International, Lava provides a doorstep after-sales scheme ('Free Service@Home') allowing warranty repairs to be performed at the user's residence. According to The Hindu, lava launched the Shark 2 4G in October 2025 with a 5,000mAh battery and 10W charger for entry-level smartphone buyers.
