Jio Partners With Canva To Offer Free Pro Subscriptions On Select Plans
Reliance Jio has launched a strategic partnership with Canva to provide eligible prepaid and postpaid customers in India with 12 months of free access to Canva Pro or Canva Pro Lite. The initiative, which went live on September 16, 2026, allows users to activate their subscriptions directly through the MyJio application without additional charges. The specific tier of the design platform provided depends on the user's current recharge plan.
Eligibility and Plan Tiers
The distribution of the design tools is tiered based on the value and data allocation of the user's recharge. Customers on the ₹399 plan are eligible for a full 12-month subscription to Canva Pro. For those on the ₹349 plan, as well as any prepaid plan priced above ₹349 that includes 2GB of daily high-speed data, Jio is providing 12 months of Canva Pro Lite. The company stated that the value of these bundled subscriptions exceeds ₹4,000.
Feature Comparison and AI Tools
While both tiers offer access to premium templates, fonts, and essential design tools such as the one-tap background remover and Magic Eraser, the feature sets diverge significantly. Canva Pro includes 100GB of cloud storage, five advanced brand kits, the Content Planner for social media scheduling, and access to the Canva AI chatbot with higher usage limits. In contrast, the Pro Lite version is capped at 50GB of cloud storage and provides three basic brand kits, with more restricted access to advanced AI-powered design capabilities.
Expanding Design Accessibility
The partnership is designed to lower the barrier to entry for professional-grade design tools, particularly for users with limited experience. By integrating these capabilities into the MyJio ecosystem, the company aims to facilitate the creation of marketing materials, social media content, and educational projects. As part of this rollout, Canva has also introduced support for Hindi and other regional Indian languages, allowing for broader content creation capabilities beyond English. Users can claim the benefit by navigating to the offer section within the MyJio app, where they will be guided through the activation process.
