Amazon Introduces Five Alexa-Enabled Smart Home Devices

Amazon has expanded its smart home hardware portfolio by introducing five new Alexa-enabled connected devices.
The updated hardware lineup includes a redesigned Echo Dot, an Echo Studio equipped with a home camera, an Echo Time bedside clock, an Alexa Photo Frame, and a redesigned Echo Show 16.
AppleInsider reports that the updated Echo Dot combines Zigbee and Matter connectivity with a Thread border router as part of its smart-home hub.
All five hardware products operate on the latest Alexa platform, which supports conversational interactions, contextual reasoning, and complex multi-step user instructions.
Amazon has not yet specified availability dates or retail pricing for the Indian market.
Next-Generation Echo Dot and Echo Studio Camera
The redesigned Echo Dot carries a retail price of $99.99, which converts to approximately 9,500 rupees in the United States.
For the first time, the compact speaker integrates a smart home hub alongside an eero Wi-Fi mesh extender that expands wireless coverage by up to 1,000 square feet.
It is powered by Amazon's custom AZ3 processor featuring a dedicated hardware accelerator for local on-device artificial intelligence execution.
Amazon says the AZ3 chip improves voice recognition and noise filtering, and claims the new speaker produces 50% more bass than its predecessor.
The new $99.99 Echo Dot replaces the 5th-generation Echo Dot from 2022 and costs $20 more than that previous model, according to Thurrott.
The Echo Studio with Home Camera retails for $249.99, roughly 23,800 rupees, while the camera-free standard Echo Studio is priced at $219.99, or around 21,000 rupees.
The camera-equipped model incorporates visual intelligence features that allow users to show items to Alexa for reordering goods or reviewing game rules.
It retains a high-excursion woofer with Dolby Atmos spatial sound, using Advanced Room Adaptation to calibrate acoustic output to the surrounding room environment.
Echo Time Smart Clock and Connected Home Visuals
The Echo Time smart clock carries a starting price of $199.99, approximately 19,000 rupees, while a dedicated children's variant costs $209.99, or roughly 20,000 rupees, including a one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription.
Designed specifically for nightstands without an onboard optical camera, Echo Time utilizes Omnisense sleep sensing technology to track resting states without requiring wearable fitness bands.
The device can adjust wake-up alarms within a 10 to 60 minute window based on light sleep cycles while gradually brightening its screen to simulate dawn.
The standalone Alexa Photo Frame incorporates a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen designed to showcase imagery synchronized automatically through Amazon Photos.
Amazon lists a $19.99 monthly Alexa+ subscription for unlimited use by customers without Prime; a more limited free experience is also described.
The photo display software can curate pictures highlighting seasonal scenes or smiling individuals while filtering out screenshot clutter.
Echo Show 16 Smart Display Architecture
The redesigned Echo Show 16 features a 16-inch anti-glare display panel, night vision camera optics, and integrated Fire TV support.
For ambient household control, the Echo Show 16 supports an interactive Alexa Home Map dashboard that visualizes connected locks, thermostats, and lighting throughout a residence.
Homeowners can also activate the Live View camera feature during daytime or night hours using integrated night vision and auto-framing capabilities.
Pre-orders for the standard Echo Show 16 open at $499.99, around 47,600 rupees, while an anti-reflective Nanomatte glass variant costs $569.99, approximately 54,300 rupees.
