Adobe Integrates Creative Tools Into Google Gemini and Expands Claude Plugin

Adobe has expanded its software ecosystem by launching a connected app for Google Gemini and updating its existing plugin for Anthropic's Claude. These integrations allow users to access core creative and document management tools directly within conversational AI interfaces, reducing the need to switch between standalone desktop or web applications.

Data transfers use encryption, and connected services process information on their own infrastructure governed by separate terms. Additionally, removing an app or clearing history inside Gemini does not delete information already received by a partner application.

The launch marks Adobe's first official integration with Google's chatbot platform, which currently serves over one billion monthly users. Available globally across all Gemini plans, the connected app enables users to leverage capabilities from Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Express, and Firefly. By utilizing a conversational interface, users can request specific creative tasks, such as improving image lighting, cropping photos for marketing campaigns, or generating social media content. Adobe's system automatically orchestrates the necessary tools and workflow steps in the background to fulfill these requests.

Adobe has simultaneously broadened its existing plugin for Claude, introducing Acrobat tools for the first time. This update integrates document management with the creative suite, offering more than 80 tools across applications including Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, and Adobe Stock. Users can now perform PDF operations such as deleting, combining, or splitting pages, redacting sensitive information, and converting file formats directly within the chatbot.

Adobe states it does not train its Firefly model on customer content and only uses material it has permission to utilize. When reviewing documents with Claude, the interactive viewer supports organizing pages, editing content, and adding annotations.

Beyond conversational prompts, Adobe has introduced interactive editing features for both Acrobat and Express. This allows users to move from text-based instructions to direct file manipulation. In the new interactive editor, users can reorder PDF pages, edit text, and add comments or highlights. Similarly, the updated Adobe Express integration features a layer-based editor, enabling users to customize individual design elements like fonts, images, and colors without needing to regenerate entire projects.

The move reflects Adobe's broader strategy to embed its professional software into the AI assistants that are increasingly becoming the primary entry point for digital work. By positioning its tools within Gemini and Claude, Adobe aims to maintain product visibility as users shift toward chat-based workflows. The company described the Gemini rollout as the initial phase of a deeper relationship with Google, with plans to introduce additional creative and productivity functions in future updates.
