Ramayana Releases First Song Jai Jai Ram Featuring AR Rahman, Arijit Singh

The first musical track from the upcoming big-budget cinematic project Ramayana Part One has been officially released, launching the promotional campaign for director Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation on the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Titled Jai Jai Ram, the devotional anthem is composed by Academy and Grammy Award-winning musician A.R. Rahman, written by poet Kumar Vishwas, and performed by the vocal duo of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.

The release introduces audiences to fresh visual stills from the production, showcasing Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita. The footage highlights foundational moments from the narrative arc, including Sita's swayamvar and the breaking of Shiva's bow, while setting a devotional tone that merges traditional aarti chants with orchestral cinematic arrangements.

Addressing the creative framework behind the track, A.R. Rahman explained that the primary objective was to maintain the direct intimacy of private prayer while expanding the composition into a grand cinematic piece. Rahman noted that the repetition of Shri Ram's name forms the core of the track, designed not to encapsulate the mythological figure's entire stature in language, but to project the personal relationship shared between a devotee and a guide.

Lyricist Kumar Vishwas added that the three words of the title constitute a complete prayer in themselves, requiring no extraneous ornamentation to convey spiritual resonance. According to Vishwas, the language was kept intentionally direct to articulate the concept of Lord Rama acting as a refuge and strength for humanity across various phases of life.

Filmmaker and producer Namit Malhotra stated that timing the rollout to coincide with Ganesh Chaturthi aligned with cultural traditions of seeking auspicious beginnings. Malhotra emphasized that the track stems from a deeply personal relationship with the central figure, serving as an emotional anchor for the project ahead of its scheduled theatrical premiere.

Ramayana Part One is backed by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, with distribution handled by Sony Pictures. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Shri Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The first part of the multi-film project is slated to arrive in theaters worldwide on November 5, 2026, coinciding with the Diwali holiday window.
