Mahindra Confirms 5 New Vehicle Launches for H1 2027

Mahindra detailed comprehensive product rollout plans encompassing five new vehicle introductions scheduled for the first half of 2027. Executive leadership represented by sector head Rajesh Jejurikar detailed the forthcoming model calendar during the quarterly media briefing. The product schedule consists of the initial production offering built on the NU_IQ architecture alongside an all-new INGLO dedicated electric vehicle. The automaker will additionally introduce the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup truck, a significant model revision to an existing utility vehicle, and a light commercial vehicle. All five commercial introductions are scheduled to arrive in domestic showrooms prior to the conclusion of June 2027.
Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup Details and Positioning
The Scorpio Lifestyler represents the sole passenger vehicle among the group whose production identity has received formal corporate confirmation. Mahindra previously showcased the lifestyle pickup in August, projecting commercial customer deliveries to commence by April 2027. Retail pricing for the Scorpio Lifestyler is projected to start below 19.79 lakh rupees ex-showroom for private registration buyers. Corporate leadership stated that the diesel-powered pickup will be registered as a personal transport vehicle carrying a white registration plate. Featuring an upright front fascia and separated rear cargo bed, the lifestyle pickup introduces dedicated utility appeal distinct from standard passenger SUVs. Mahindra confirmed that the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup will launch in India by April 2027 in three editions named Valley, Reef, and Trail, and will be sold internationally as the Mahindra Lifestyler, according to Autofy Store. In August 2023, Mahindra showcased the Global Pik Up concept in Cape Town, South Africa, which served as the conceptual precursor to the production Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, according to Autofy Store.
NU_IQ Architecture and INGLO Electric Lineup
The first NU_IQ production vehicle is anticipated to derive styling and proportions from the Vision S concept showcased in August 2025. The flexible NU_IQ monocoque architecture is engineered to accommodate petrol, diesel, hybrid, and battery electric powertrain configurations. The upcoming electric sport utility vehicle will utilize the dedicated INGLO skateboard architecture, with the BE 07 representing a primary candidate. The electric SUV could offer 59 kilowatt-hour and 79 kilowatt-hour battery pack configurations similar to existing INGLO platforms. The vehicle pipeline also encompasses an updated model following previous mid-cycle revisions introduced across the Scorpio N and Thar OG nameplates. Mahindra's INGLO electric platform architecture supports DC fast charging up to 175–180 kW, enabling a 20 to 80% battery recharge in about 20 minutes, according to MeraEV.
Chakan Plant Expansion and Long-Term Capacity Targets
Mahindra is expanding assembly capacity at its Chakan manufacturing plant to support the multi-model production rollout. Management expects to establish approximately 8000 units of additional monthly NU_IQ manufacturing capacity by February or March 2027. Dedicated electric vehicle manufacturing output will increase by an additional 4000 units per month to reach 12000 monthly units. The company has acquired land parcels for a major manufacturing project in Nagpur while sustaining quarterly deliveries exceeding 1.83 lakh utility vehicles. The five-vehicle offensive reinforces Mahindra's market standing across combustion, commercial, and next-generation zero-emission vehicle categories. On May 5, 2026, Mahindra outlined product plans to launch 16 new SUVs in India by 2031, consisting of 10 combustion-engine models and six electric vehicles, according to ThatsmyEV.
