JSW MG Motor Delivers First 50 Hector Tomahawk EVs in Surat
JSW MG Motor India has completed a major regional handover by delivering 50 units of the Hector Tomahawk electric SUV to customers in Surat in a single day. The milestone rollout arrives as the manufacturer looks to expand its electrified footprint across larger family vehicle segments, backed by recent sales momentum that saw June, July, and August each surpass 7,500 units with double-digit year-on-year growth.
The Hector Tomahawk EV lineup is structured across multiple variants, beginning with the Excite 7S priced at Rs 19,49,800 ex-showroom Surat. Higher trims include the Exclusive 7S at Rs 21,99,800, while the range-topping Essence is listed at Rs 22,99,800 for the five-seat layout and Rs 23,49,800 for the seven-seat variant. To lower initial acquisition hurdles, JSW MG Motor India provides an introductory Battery-as-a-Service model starting at Rs 13,99 lakh for initial bookings, alongside a battery rental structure set at Rs 4.90 per kilometre.
According to AutoPunditz, the Hector Tomahawk EV's BaaS starting price of ₹13.99 lakh establishes a lower initial acquisition threshold than traditional battery-inclusive electric SUVs such as the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV. Underneath the exterior, the pure electric variant utilises a 69.2 kWh battery pack linked to a permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque. JSW MG Motor India cites a certified driving range of 517 km on a single charge. For replenishment, the system supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 90 kW, enabling quicker turnaround times during longer journeys.

Pricing for the plug-in hybrid, which is sold exclusively in a seven-seat format, starts at Rs 25,69,800 for the Exclusive 7S and scales to Rs 27,79,800 for the Essence 7S. Introductory BaaS terms for this configuration begin at Rs 21.79 lakh, accompanied by a battery rental fee of Rs 3.20 per kilometre for limited bookings.
Cabin Appointments and Safety Integration
Inside the cabin, the layout adopts a Desert Squadron-themed interior finished in Almond Brown and Carbon Black, complemented by leatherette upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Depending on the chosen trim, occupants have access to a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment interface, an 8.8-inch driver information display, and a 10-speaker Infinity audio system.
Comfort provisions extend to ventilated front seats, a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, a four-way powered co-driver seat, driver seat memory functionality, dual-pane panoramic sunroof infrastructure, and 256-colour ambient lighting. Cargo versatility is supported by 60:40 split-folding second-row seats featuring slide and recline functions, yielding up to 610 litres of boot capacity in the five-seat configuration.
Safety provisions across the range incorporate six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist, and disc brakes on all four wheels. Further driving aids include a 360-degree camera system with wheel view, front and rear parking sensors, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems suite comprising adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and intelligent headlamp control. JSW MG Motor India also extends a lifetime battery warranty to the primary owner of both the electric and plug-in hybrid variants, subject to governing terms.
