BMW Motorrad has raised prices for its entry-level adventure motorcycle, the F 450 GS, by Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 across all three variants in the Indian market. The upward price revision comes roughly five months after the motorcycle was officially launched in April 2026 as a successor to the long-discontinued G 310 GS.
According to data from automotive reporting outlets including Autocar India and Car and Bike, the introductory pricing structure has been phased out, pushing the new ex-showroom price brackets to between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 5.60 lakh. The motorcycle continues to be manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company's facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, where production lines cater to both domestic buyers and heavy export demand.
Variant-Wise Price Realignment and Increases
The revised pricing structure impacts all three grades offered in the Indian portfolio, though the magnitude of the hike varies by trim level. The entry-level Base variant, previously retailed at an introductory Rs 4.70 lakh, now commands an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.95 lakh following a Rs 25,000 upward adjustment. Similarly, the mid-tier Exclusive variant has climbed by Rs 25,000 to reach a new price point of Rs 5.15 lakh, up from its initial Rs 4.90 lakh tag.
The range-topping GS Trophy variant, which serves as the flagship configuration within the domestic lineup, absorbed the highest individual increase of Rs 30,000. This adjustment brings the price of the top-spec model to Rs 5.60 lakh, compared to its initial launch price of Rs 5.30 lakh. All quoted figures represent ex-showroom Delhi pricing structures released across the industry.
Unchanged Mechanical Specifications and Feature Sets
Despite the across-the-board cost increases, BMW Motorrad has introduced zero mechanical or feature modifications to the adventure tourer. The motorcycle continues to rely on the newly developed 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which produces 47 to 48 horsepower at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed transmission equipped with a slipper clutch.
Chassis architecture and hardware configurations remain identical to the launch specifications. The machine utilizes a welded tubular steel frame with integrated forged elements, a 43mm KYB upside-down front fork with adjustable rebound and compression, and a rear KYB monoshock paired with a hollow cast-aluminium swingarm. Safety hardware continues to feature BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, and standard Ride modes including Rain, Road, and Enduro.
Production Pressures and Global Export Priorities
The price adjustment arrives against a backdrop of constrained domestic availability and high market demand. Initial customer deliveries, originally slated to begin in June 2026, were delayed and ultimately kicked off in August due to extensive waiting lists and temporary booking suspensions. Industry reports indicate that order backlogs stretch up to five months for domestic buyers.
Manufacturing operations at the Hosur plant face dual volume pressures as BMW Motorrad prioritizes export commitments to international markets, including the United Kingdom and various European territories where the motorcycle targets the A2 license category. While the first allocation batch for India sold out completely, a second batch is scheduled to arrive between September and October 2026.
Distinctive Variant Equipment and Visual Differentiation
Differentiation between the three trim levels remains anchored in specific technological packages and aesthetic choices rather than core powertrain capabilities. The Base and Exclusive variants are restricted to a single Cosmic Black colour option, with the Exclusive tier adding an up-and-down quickshifter and an Enduro Pro riding mode over the entry model.
The flagship GS Trophy variant distinguishes itself visually with a Racing Blue finish accented by red and white highlights, a white chassis, an aluminium engine guard, a tinted Rallye windshield, and hand guards. Functionally, the Trophy grade retains exclusive access to the Easy Ride Clutch system, which removes the requirement to manually operate a clutch lever during gear shifts.
