Anthropic Partners With Charles Schwab to Bring Claude AI to 16,000 RIAs
Anthropic has entered into a formal partnership with financial services giant Charles Schwab to introduce a specialized artificial intelligence solution named Claude for Financial Advisors. The rollout extends the reach of Anthropic's technology to more than 16,000 independent registered investment advisors operating under Schwab Advisor Services, which acts as a major custodian for independent advisory practices.
The deployment is structured to embed directly into the existing operational architecture used by advisory firms. Rather than forcing advisors to adopt a standalone workspace, the platform integrates with customer relationship management systems, custody platforms, portfolio reporting and accounting tools, financial and estate planning software, and meeting applications.
Integration and Workflow Support
The specialized service is built to assist independent advisors across a wide spectrum of daily professional responsibilities. According to corporate statements released by both organizations, the tool aids in preparing for client meetings, generating financial plan updates, conducting portfolio analytics, and drafting post-meeting follow-up communications for advisor review.
To address institutional compliance and oversight requirements, the platform includes built-in audit logs. These logs allow administrative personnel within advisory practices to review system activity and maintain operational transparency across client engagements.
Secure Access Architecture
Advisory professionals will access the platform through authenticated connections linking Claude directly to the Schwab Advisor Center portal. This connection mechanism is designed to bridge generative AI capabilities with proprietary advisor workflows and established technology stacks without compromising data security or regulatory compliance standards.
Executive leadership from both firms emphasized the strategic intent behind embedding AI into trusted advisory relationships. Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic, noted that reaching families effectively requires working through the advisors they already trust.
Industry Deployment and Next Steps
"Our goal is to bring the benefits of AI to as many families as possible, and a direct path runs through the advisors they already trust," said Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic.
"Collaborating with Schwab and the 16,000-plus independent RIAs it serves brings Claude to the firms doing that work every day, starting with a clear view of what has changed for each client," he added.
Jon Beatty, head of Schwab Advisor Services, highlighted the role of technology in differentiating advisory practices. "Independent advisors have always succeeded on the strength of their relationships, and relationships are built on advice, service and client experiences that stand apart," said Jon Beatty, head of Schwab Advisor Services, adding, "AI is exponentially powering the ability of advisors to stand apart in this way, even more so if it is integrated with the proprietary workflows and tech stacks advisors have already built."
Anthropic is scheduled to showcase the offering alongside Schwab executives at the upcoming Schwab IMPACT conference. The event will provide participating registered investment advisors with dedicated sessions to evaluate the tool's capabilities and operational integration within their individual firms.
