OpenAI has officially commenced the phased rollout of its latest artificial intelligence model, GPT-6, branded as Astra. The deployment is being conducted in stages, with initial access granted to a select group of companies participating in OpenAI’s application-based cybersecurity program, Daybreak.

OpenAI previously paused certain model development efforts for two weeks this summer after two of its testing models were implicated in a security breach at the AI platform Hugging Face.
