Logitech Debuts MX Keypad as Its First Dedicated AI Control Center for Developers

Logitech has expanded its professional hardware lineup with the international and Indian release of the MX Keypad, positioning the device as the company's first MX AI control center built specifically for multi-app, multi-agent coding workflows. Priced at Rs 15,999 in India and $99.99 in select global markets, the physical controller is engineered to give software engineers a centralized hardware interface to manage complex, multi-tool development environments without constantly breaking their coding focus.

The device arrives as developers increasingly juggle an expanding ecosystem of artificial intelligence coding agents, companion applications, and version control scripts. By introducing physical keys equipped with dynamic LCD feedback, Logitech aims to streamline how engineers execute tasks ranging from code generation and refactoring to debugging and terminal toggling across multiple platforms simultaneously.

Developed in close collaboration with GitHub, the MX Keypad launches with native out-of-the-box integration supporting major development environments such as VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, and the official GitHub Copilot app. To accelerate adoption among professional software developers, every retail unit includes a complimentary three-month subscription to GitHub Copilot Pro+, which can be redeemed directly through the Logi Options+ software utility for both new and existing user accounts.

At the core of the hardware's utility is its ability to automatically detect whichever application a developer is currently using and dynamically switch its key configurations. Beyond specialized coding suites, the controller supports a broad spectrum of productivity, communication, and creative software including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Figma, Spotify, Notion, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and OBS Studio.

Users can assign custom shortcuts, macros, voice prompts, and toggle actions to individual keys, organize complex actions across multiple custom pages, and design personalized visual icons for the LCD keys. “Today, coding mastery depends on how easily developers can juggle between an ever-increasing range of AI tools,” said Anatoliy Polyanker, VP and GM at Logitech. “MX Keypad puts a physical control center at your fingertips, allowing you to orchestrate your AI workflows faster and more intuitively.”

To foster an extensible ecosystem beyond out-of-the-box integrations, Logitech has introduced the Logi Actions SDK, enabling software engineers to build bespoke tools rapidly. The software development kit features AI-friendly documentation that allows coding agents to generate custom integrations directly from the SDK, transforming what would traditionally be complex development tasks into manageable projects.

The active developer community has already published plugins for advanced tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to the Logi Marketplace. These community-built additions provide real-time agent status tracking and direct command-line interface (CLI) control via physical keys, extending the hardware's reach across Logitech's broader ecosystem of compatible devices.

Physically, the compact control center measures 91.7 by 77.9 by 25.5 millimeters and weighs 96 grams, complemented by a dedicated stand measuring 112.7 by 58.5 by 20.5 millimeters that adds 61 grams. The device connects via an included 1.5-meter USB-C 2.0 cable and operates using the Logi Options+ software framework on Windows 10 or later and macOS 13 or later, though Windows ARM64 configurations are currently unsupported.

In line with corporate environmental targets, the Graphite color variant incorporates a high proportion of certified post-consumer recycled plastic, reaching 64 percent excluding internal wiring assemblies, cables, membranes, LCD components, and electromagnetic interference gaskets. Furthermore, the retail packaging utilizes paper sourced exclusively from FSC-certified forests and other controlled supply chains, reflecting sustainable manufacturing practices alongside professional hardware performance.

The Logitech MX Keypad is available for purchase in its Graphite finish at Rs 15,999 through authorized retail channels and online storefronts. Logitech has clarified that utilizing the device's advanced AI features and voice prompting capabilities requires an active internet connection alongside a valid user account with the respective third-party AI service provider.
