HP Launches ZBook Ultra G3a Mobile Workstation in India

HP has expanded its professional workstation lineup in India with the release of the ZBook Ultra G3a, a 16-inch mobile machine engineered to handle intensive artificial intelligence and engineering tasks. The device is built to support local execution of large language models with up to 300 billion parameters, shifting the processing burden away from cloud-based infrastructure. According to the company, this capability is intended to assist developers and creative professionals who require high-performance computing for multi-agent workflows and complex product design.
Hardware and AI Processing Capabilities
The workstation is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, which integrates a 55 TOPS neural processing unit to accelerate machine learning tasks. To accommodate resource-heavy applications, the system supports up to 192GB of unified memory and provides up to 160GB of dedicated video memory. Sanjeev Pathak, Senior Director of HP Solutions in India, noted that the workstation integrates AI processing into a portable form factor to meet the evolving needs of professional workflows.
Thermal Design and Portability
Despite its focus on high-performance computing, the ZBook Ultra G3a maintains a thin profile, measuring approximately 17.9mm in thickness and weighing about 1.9kg. HP has implemented a redesigned thermal system that allows for a maximum performance of 100W, which the company states is an 81.8% increase in thermal design power compared to the 55W limit of the previous G1a model.
Display and Commercial Availability
The device features a 16-inch 2.8K OLED display with an optional 120Hz refresh rate, designed to provide color accuracy for creative work. Additional specifications include a 96Wh battery rated for up to 14 hours of use, optional 5G connectivity, and an IT-replaceable keyboard. The ZBook Ultra G3a is priced at Rs 2,89,990, excluding taxes, and is currently available through HP commercial channel partners in India. The company also offers optional 140W and 180W GaN USB-C power adapters to support charging across different work environments.
Enterprise packages for the HP ZBook Ultra G3a include a 3-year onsite warranty alongside HP Wolf Pro Security.
The workstation featured 64 GB LPDDR5x memory and a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touch display.
