Welspun Corp Rallies After US Arm Wins Record $412.5 Million Pipe Order

Welspun Corp shares surged up to 5 per cent during Friday trading sessions, hitting a fresh 52-week high after announcing that its United States subsidiary secured the largest High-Frequency Induction Welded pipe order in corporate history. The stock climbed to an intraday peak of Rs 2,837.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange following the announcement of the multi-million-dollar contract.
The wholly owned American operating unit, Welspun Tubular LLC, bagged the order valued at approximately $412.5 million, translating to roughly Rs 4,000 crore. According to regulatory disclosures, the agreement sets a new internal corporate benchmark for volume, physical length, and financial magnitude. Production for the massive order is slated to take place at the company's newly upgraded manufacturing mill located in Little Rock, Arkansas, with scheduled execution spanning across fiscal years 2028 and 2029.

Global Order Book Reaches Record High

The massive American win propelled Welspun Corp's consolidated global order book to an all-time peak of $4.7 billion, equivalent to roughly Rs 45,000 crore. Management noted that the contract reinforces the enterprise strategy of scaling international manufacturing capacity while deepening long-term operational ties with tier-one energy and infrastructure clients.
The latest development follows another major international contract secured on August 20, 2026, when the firm landed a single-largest order valued at approximately $1.8 billion for pipe supplies manufactured from its American facilities, also designated for execution across fiscal years 2028 and 2029.

Valuation Metrics and Institutional Interest

Market enthusiasm has driven Welspun Corp's stock up nearly 300 per cent from its 52-week low of Rs 709.75 recorded on February 2, 2026. The company currently commands a market capitalisation of Rs 72,618 crore, backed by a price-to-earnings ratio of 31.95 and a price-to-book multiple of 7.84.
Institutional participation has concurrently strengthened. Foreign institutional investors expanded their equity holding in the pipe manufacturer to 14.61 per cent during the June 2026 quarter, moving up from 11.23 per cent in the preceding period. Technical indicators show the equity trading above all eight primary simple moving averages.

Analyst Perspectives and Middle East Expansion

Brokerage houses have highlighted the robust multi-year tailwinds supporting welded line pipe producers across North America and the Middle East. Jefferies analysts project a 33 per cent compound annual growth rate in earnings per share through fiscal 2029, underpinned by expanding capacity and rising net cash balances.
Parallel to its US footprint, Welspun Corp maintains strategic exposure in the Middle East via its associate entity, East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi firm recently signed contracts exceeding 771 million Saudi riyals with Saudi Arabian Oil Company for steel pipe manufacturing, aligning with regional infrastructure initiatives.
