Union Home Minister Amit Shah Falls Ill in Hubballi, Skips Medical College Inauguration

Union Home Minister Amit Shah fell ill while visiting Hubballi in Karnataka, forcing him to cancel a high-profile scheduled appearance on Saturday morning. Shah had arrived in the city late Friday night for a weekend itinerary that included inaugurating a new medical facility.

Thousands of attendees and dignitaries had gathered at the venue near Gabbur to witness the launch before the cancellation was announced. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi stepped in to inaugurate the KLE Hospital and medical Research Centre in Shah's absence.

According to local reports, Shah experienced sudden health complications while staying at the Denissons Hotel in Hubballi. Medical professionals rushed to his hotel quarters to administer treatment on-site rather than transferring him to a clinical facility.

While official statements regarding the exact nature of the indisposition were not immediately released, local administrative and party officials gathered at the hotel to monitor his condition. Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Snehal R and Zilla Panchayat CEO Bhuvaneshkumar Patil were among the local administrators who rushed to the site.

Before proceeding to the hospital inauguration ceremony, several senior political figures visited the Denissons Hotel to check on the Home Minister. The visiting delegation included BJP State President B Y Vijayendra and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

Additional political leaders who arrived at the hotel included MPs Basavaraj Bommai and Iranna Kadadi, former minister Murugesh Nirani, along with legislators C C Patil, Arvind Bellad, and Abhay Patil, and former MP Ramesh Katti.

Shah's primary itinerary for Saturday morning was the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for KAHER's JGMM Medical College alongside the KLE Hospital and medical Research Centre. The event had drawn large crowds to the Gabbur outskirts of Hubballi.

Following the medical intervention at the hotel, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi proceeded to the venue to fulfill the scheduled inauguration duties. Local authorities have not yet announced revised dates for Shah's postponed engagements in the region.
