Singapore IT Executive Shot Dead Over Parking Row in Faridabad

A 42-year-old senior executive of a Singapore-based IT solutions firm was shot dead following a parking altercation outside his residential building in Faridabad on Friday evening. The victim, Paramjit Dhankhar (also identified as Paramjith Dhankhar or Paramjeet Dhankar), who previously headed Asian operations for Indian IT major Tech Mahindra, had returned to Haryana from Singapore two days prior. Law enforcement authorities arrested the accused neighbour, identified as real estate agent Mohan Sharma (alias Monu Sharma), following an extensive tracking operation. The accused allegedly fired approximately 14 to 15 rounds from a licensed pistol during the confrontation in the designated residential parking area. According to police statements, between eight and nine bullets struck Dhankhar, causing fatal injuries before medical intervention could arrive.
Parking Confrontation and Eyewitness Account
According to an official police complaint filed by the victim's 19-year-old son Shaurya, the accused rang their doorbell around 8.30 pm demanding vehicle relocation. Dhankhar had returned home to house number 641 from a gym session around 8 pm when the parking dispute broke out. Shaurya accompanied his father downstairs to the multi-storey building parking lot in Sector 21C to resolve vehicle placement concerns. A heated verbal dispute escalated rapidly before Sharma produced his handgun and discharged multiple rounds directly toward the victim. Shaurya escaped physical injury by seeking shelter behind adjacent parked motor vehicles as gunfire erupted across the residential lot.
History of Disputes and Family Background
Station House Officer Inspector Pahlad (identified as Prahlad Kumar) of Surajkund police station stated that the neighbouring families experienced recurring friction in preceding weeks. Investigators noted that earlier grievances involved Sharma's pet dog relieving itself in shared parking spaces, prompting repeated objections four to five days earlier. Police records indicated that the accused had previously engaged in abusive conduct toward the victim's son during prior neighborhood arguments. Dhankhar, who originally hailed from Hisar, had travelled home to celebrate Deepavali (Dhanteras) and attend his nephew's scheduled wedding on November 24. Street resident Narendra recounted that initial gunfire was mistaken for festive Diwali firecrackers before neighbours discovered the fatal shooting outside. Following the shooting, investigators sent Paramjit Dhankhar's body for a forensic post-mortem examination at ESIC Medical College in Faridabad, according to NewsGram.
Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings
Following the shooting, the accused fled the crime scene in his motor vehicle before police units arrived at the location. Crime Branch personnel alongside a specialized Forensic Science Laboratory team inspected the site and recovered several discharged cartridge casings. The Sector 30 Crime Branch investigation team arrested the accused on Saturday following coordinated searches across the National Capital Region.
