Mahajan Imaging & Labs has entered into a strategic joint venture partnership with Chennai-based Neuberg Diagnostics to expand integrated pathology, genomics, and wellness services across North India. The partnership unites Mahajan Imaging and Labs' expertise in radiology, nuclear medicine, PET-CT, and advanced diagnostics across Delhi-NCR and Jaipur with Neuberg's network of over 200 accredited laboratories and multi-market experience spanning India, the UAE, South Africa, and the USA.
Territory Coverage and Operational Integration
Under the agreement, Mahajan Imaging will serve as Neuberg's exclusive partner across seven North Indian states and Union territories, covering the National Capital Region, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, Mahajan Imaging and Labs will assume control of Neuberg's existing laboratory operations located in Noida, Lucknow, and Jammu.
The newly formed joint venture aims to establish a unified diagnostic pathway for patients and clinicians by combining routine blood work with advanced molecular testing, PET-CT scans, and nuclear medicine. According to the companies, this integration targets reduced turnaround times, minimized sample re-collections, and consolidated reports that correlate imaging findings directly with pathology and genomic data.
Leadership and Expansion Timeline
Kabir Mahajan will lead the joint venture as its chief executive, focusing initial operational execution on digital systems integration, turnaround time reduction, and artificial intelligence deployment for quality control and reporting. The initiative targets initial concentration in Delhi-NCR and surrounding markets before expanding into other major North Indian cities over an 18-month timeline. The covered territory represents approximately 40 percent of India's population, according to company statements.
The expansion strategy incorporates hub laboratories, collection centers, advanced imaging facilities, and referral capabilities. Investment plans prioritize infrastructure development, sample collection networks, and logistics, featuring tech-driven sample transit and drone-enabled delivery mechanisms.
Harsh Mahajan, founder and chairman of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, stated, 'The partnership will look to make diagnostics more accessible and affordable and work towards greater integration across pathology, imaging, nuclear medicine and genomics. We wanted to scale up pathology without losing quality. Neuberg's expertise in pathology is what we looked at while deciding this partnership. This association allows us to accelerate that existing capability by bringing in additional scale, infrastructure and expertise.'
G.S.K. Velu, founder, chairman, and managing director of Neuberg Diagnostics, said, 'Our commitment is to bring world-class diagnostic technology within reach of every citizen, prioritising early diagnosis and prevention to improve quality of life across North India.'
Market Context and Sector Projections
The partnership launches as India's organized diagnostics sector broadens its scope beyond conventional laboratory testing. Rating agency ICRA projects that organized diagnostic players will achieve 12 to 14 percent revenue growth in FY2027, driven by preventive health screenings, deeper penetration into non-metro markets, and rising clinical demand for precision testing.
For patients across the seven designated states and Union territories, the joint venture seeks to enhance accessibility and affordability by offering integrated testing pathways. For the wider Indian diagnostics market, the alliance represents major consolidation and expansion by two established entities, intensifying competition and accelerating technology adoption across the region.
