The State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), chaired by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, approved nine new industrial projects and eight additional investment and amendment proposals on Wednesday (September 2-3, 2026), involving a total investment of ₹29,679 crore. According to official releases from the Karnataka government, these newly greenlit projects are collectively expected to generate approximately 66,360 jobs across the state. The 68th SHLCC meeting, held at the Chief Minister's official residence, brought together key state ministers, Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, and senior bureaucratic leadership to evaluate expansive manufacturing and infrastructure initiatives.
The newly approved projects account for ₹25,710.56 crore of the total allocation and are projected to create 64,349 jobs. Among the marquee investments, Hero Future Energies committed ₹9,760 crore with an estimated creation of 3,200 jobs. Vibrancy Renewable Energies (also noted in filings as Vibrancy Real Estates) received clearance for a ₹2,194.94 crore (or ₹2,195.94 crore) investment aimed at developing IT and ITES office space in Bengaluru, carrying a massive potential of 30,000 jobs. Mahindra Aerostructures secured approval for a ₹2,300 crore facility in Kolar to manufacture aerospace parts and assemblies, generating 3,000 jobs. TruAlt Bioenergy received clearance for a ₹2,988 crore project creating 21,436 jobs, while Aequs Consumer Products was approved for a ₹1,104 crore expansion in Dharwad for electronics components, creating 4,813 jobs. Additional new entrants include Nirani Sugars at ₹4,062.6 crore (700 jobs), Epsilon Cam (Epsilon) at ₹1,500 crore (500 jobs), Toyota Kirloskar Motor at ₹1,200 crore for a Business Intelligence Hub near Bengaluru (500 jobs), and Lighthouse Canton Alternatives Asset Manager (Lighthouse Alternative Assets) at ₹600 crore (200 jobs).
In addition to fresh greenfield projects, the SHLCC cleared eight expansion and amendment proposals involving a capital outlay of ₹3,968.64 crore, which will yield an additional 2,011 jobs. Notable expansions include ₹1,050 crore from TVS Motor Company, ₹884.25 crore from MSPL, ₹605.15 crore from Bheema Fine Chemicals, ₹492.24 crore from Sansera Engineering, ₹437 crore from Honda Cars India, ₹250 crore from Nsure Reliable Power Solutions (Ensure Reliance Power Solutions), and ₹250 crore from Havells India. These expansions reinforce Karnataka's growing dominance across diverse sectors, ranging from automotive and heavy engineering to fine chemicals and renewable energy.
Addressing the executive committee, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar instituted stricter fiscal governance measures for industrial clearances. He directed the Finance Department to enforce mandatory pre-audits and comprehensive project report scrutinies prior to the issuance of industrial licenses. Furthermore, the CM instructed officials to constitute a specialized new audit team to oversee compliance, ensuring strict adherence to the state's industrial policy parameters while proactively encouraging industrial expansion beyond core urban centers.
Complementing the SHLCC clearances, the Karnataka government has initiated strategic planning to decentralize industrial growth. Following directives issued by CM Shivakumar during recent Commerce and Industries Department progress reviews, the administration is actively identifying five non-Bengaluru cities equipped with robust airport and transport infrastructure to absorb future investments, ease demographic congestion in the capital, and foster balanced regional development across the state.
