Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, stated in the official announcement, "Our partnership with IIT Madras is a strategic move to nurture the next generation of Indian game developers by providing them with world-class mentorship and technical resources."
While the curriculum and institutional framework have been finalized, specific financial investment figures for the academy and the exact number of student cohorts admitted per year have not been publicly disclosed by either KRAFTON India or IIT Madras.
The initiative follows the precedent of the NVIDIA-IIT Madras AI Research Center established in 2024, which similarly focused on fostering industry-academia collaboration in advanced technological sectors.
