Anushka Sen Named Global Ambassador for Newport Beach Film Festival

Indian actor Anushka Sen has been appointed as the official global ambassador representing national cinema talent at the 2026 Newport Beach Film Festival. In this ambassadorial capacity, she will champion creative contributions from India at the international gathering celebrating diverse cinematic narratives. The prestigious recognition coincides with her forthcoming appearance in Jeju Olle, marking her debut performance within the South Korean film landscape. Helmed by director Jin Kwang-Kyo, the cross-border production was backed by Storyworks and Lucifer Production alongside partner Celebridge. The feature pairs Sen with South Korean performer Kang Hyung-seok, recognized for his work in television dramas such as Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The musical drama depicts Alisha, a singer who journeys to Jeju Island following bereavement and encounters a former music idol facing personal dilemmas. Filmed across multilingual dialogues in Korean, Hindi, and English, the project has been chosen for the Korean Spotlight curation at the festival. The feature will host its inaugural North American screening on October 21, 2026, as international theatrical distribution talks proceed across 21 countries. Supported by a worldwide digital following approaching 40 million individuals, Sen expressed pride in bringing cross-cultural storytelling to global audiences.
The Korea Tourism Organization previously appointed Sen as Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism during the Korea Festival 2023.
