According to Webike Japan, triumph Motorcycles has confirmed an upcoming global reveal event scheduled for October 6, where it will showcase four new motorcycles for its 2027 range. Headlining the debut is the eagerly anticipated Triumph Bonneville 400, a modern retro roadster designed to expand the brand's popular India-made 350cc portfolio into the traditional retro segment.

A teaser video released by the manufacturer reveals darkened silhouettes of all four upcoming machines, which industry reports indicate will include a new Street Triple variant and two Tiger adventure models alongside the heritage-styled Bonneville. Test mules of the Bonneville 400 have been sighted repeatedly over recent months, pointing to a late-2026 market rollout.

Distinctive Retro Styling and Chassis Architecture

Unlike its stablemates in the Bajaj-manufactured 400cc lineup, the Bonneville 400 adopts hardware tailored specifically to its classic aesthetic. While models such as the Speed 400, Scrambler 400, and Thruxton 400 employ upside-down front forks and a monoshock rear setup, test prototypes confirm that the Bonneville 400 features conventional right-way-up telescopic forks equipped with gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers.

Historically, the original T120 Triumph Bonneville debuted in 1959 after a land speed record was set on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA. In India, safety regulations previously established mandatory ABS requirements for two-wheelers with engine capacities exceeding 125 cc.

Bajaj Auto manufactures the Triumph 400 twins at its Chakan 2 plant, which has an installed capacity of 25,000 units. For market context, the Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh, while the Speed T4 is priced at Rs 2.17 lakh.

the motorcycle utilizes a revised chassis, swingarm, and a flatter, longer rear subframe designed to accommodate a traditional bench-type seat. Visual cues mirror larger capacity models in the Bonneville family, incorporating a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, swooping mudguards, circular headlamps, wire-spoke wheels, and a peashooter-style exhaust system, resulting in a slightly larger and heavier build than the Speed 400.

New Triumph motorcycles are covered by a 24-month unlimited mileage warranty starting from their initial registration date. Additionally, the Bonneville 400 will compete against the Honda CB 500, which features a starting price of Rs 2.75 lakh.

Powertrain Tuning and Segment Positioning

In the Indian market, the Bonneville 400 is expected to be powered by a 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine derived from Triumph's locally built platform. Reports suggest the powerplant will be tuned to deliver strong low-end torque and a more relaxed riding character, comparable to the output profile seen on the Speed T4 variant at approximately 29 hp and 31 Nm of torque.

Positioned distinctly away from the performance-oriented roadster stance of the Speed 400, the upcoming model is engineered to compete directly within the traditional retro roadster category. It will challenge established segment leaders including the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350, and the recently revised Honda CB350 lineup.

Upcoming Reveal and Market Timeline

The October 6 reveal is expected to provide definitive technical specifications, official power ratings, color options, and pricing details for the production-spec motorcycle. While industry expectations point toward a late-2026 commercial release in India ahead of the festive season, formal pricing and delivery schedules remain subject to final confirmation by Triumph Motorcycles.
