Suzuki Hayabusa Special Edition Debuts in India at Rs 19.90 Lakh
Suzuki Motorcycle India has expanded its flagship motorcycle line with the launch of the Hayabusa Special Edition, priced at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Alongside the new variant, the manufacturer introduced an updated standard version of the motorcycle carrying a sticker price of Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Prospective buyers can place online or dealership bookings for the Hayabusa by depositing a sum of Rs 1,00,000. Deliveries for the initial batch require approximately two to three months, with similar wait times anticipated for subsequent motorcycle allocations in the Indian market.
Historically, the model has seen past releases such as a 1,300cc variant introduced at Rs 12.5 lakh in Delhi. Cumulative wholesales data from SIAM indicate that total sales reached 2,943 units since initial imports and subsequent local assembly at the Gurugram facility began.
According to Suzuki Motorcycle India, suzuki Motorcycle India provides a standard manufacturer warranty of 2 years or 30,000 kilometers (whichever occurs earlier) for motorcycles sold in India. According to ELIIY Power Co., Ltd., the ELIIY Power lithium-ion motorcycle battery weighs approximately 1.24 kg to 1.4 kg, compared to traditional lead-acid motorcycle batteries that weigh around 4.0 kg to 4.5 kg.
The Special Edition commands a premium of Rs 91,000 over the standard model, offering an exclusive Pearl Vigor Blue paint scheme paired with dedicated decals, unique wheel finishes, and a factory-fitted single-seat cowl. Additional cosmetic distinctions include a three-dimensional Suzuki fuel tank emblem, a special potting emblem, and anodised finishes on the muffler end and heat-guard components.
Electronic Refinements and Powertrain Updates
Mechanically, both variants retain the established 1,340 cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. However, the 2026 iteration introduces several functional upgrades across both models, notably replacing conventional power units with a lighter and more compact ELIIY Power lithium-ion battery designed to deliver more stable voltage under heavy electrical loads.
Suzuki has also revised the software calibration for the Launch Control System and the Power Mode Selector. Another prominent technical enhancement is the updated Smart Cruise Control, which now remains active during gear shifts, enabling riders to change gears without disengaging the system or maintaining throttle pressure to sustain road speed.
Standard Model Colour Options and Hardware Specifications
For buyers opting for the standard Hayabusa variant, Suzuki has introduced three new dual-tone exterior colour combinations comprising Candy Daring Red with Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Galaxy Gray with Candy Burnt Gold, and Pearl Vigor Blue with Pearl Brilliant White.
Underpinning both superbikes is a twin-spar aluminium frame paired with adjustable KYB inverted front forks and Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres. Braking duties are managed by Brembo Stylema callipers gripping dual 320 mm full-floating front discs, while rider safety aids continue to feature a Motion Track Traction Control System, Bi-directional Quick Shift System, and Slope Dependent Control System.
