Skoda Auto India is set to launch the facelifted Slavia sedan on October 6, 2026, marking the model's first major update since its debut. The company has commenced production at its Chakan facility in Pune, with pre-bookings currently open for Rs 15,000. The updated sedan aims to strengthen its position in the competitive midsize segment against rivals including the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna.

Mechanical and Transmission Upgrades

The most significant mechanical change is the introduction of an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, replacing the previous six-speed unit. This engine continues to produce 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, with a six-speed manual remaining the standard offering. The 1.5-litre TSI engine, which delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm, retains its seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Skoda has discontinued the manual transmission option for the 1.5-litre variant due to low demand.

Design and Feature Enhancements

Visually, the Slavia facelift features a redesigned front grille, revised bumpers, and updated LED lighting, including sequential indicators at the rear. The interior has been upgraded with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring an AI Companion powered by Google Cloud. Notable new comfort features include a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors, and a segment-first rear-seat massage function. The sedan continues to offer six airbags as standard and maintains its five-star Global NCAP safety rating.

Market Positioning and Pricing

Since its introduction, the Slavia has recorded nearly 80,000 sales in India. While the outgoing model is priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh, analysts expect a minor price hike for the facelifted range, with estimates suggesting a starting price between Rs 10.25 lakh and Rs 10.50 lakh for the entry-level manual variant. The top-spec Prestige and Monte Carlo trims are expected to reach up to Rs 19 lakh. Skoda supports the ownership experience with a four-year standard warranty, four years of roadside assistance, and four labour-free services under its Skoda Super Care program.

Exterior styling differs by variant, with the standard model featuring chrome accents and dual-tone alloy wheels, whereas the Monte Carlo utilizes gloss black trim and all-black wheels.
