Skoda Auto India Announces Ex-Showroom Price Hike of Up to 1.2 Percent Effective October 1

Skoda Auto India is set to raise ex-showroom prices across its vehicle lineup by up to 1.2 percent starting October 1, 2026, citing mounting input and operating pressures. According to NDTV Profit, the automotive manufacturer confirmed that the upward price revision will vary by individual model and variant, with the absolute maximum increase strictly capped at Rs 20,000.
Previously, Skoda recorded annual sales of 72,655 vehicles in 2025, following a previous record of 53,721 cars in 2022. The upcoming price revision responds directly to escalating expenses in production and operations.
The price adjustment arrives during a period of robust sales volume for the Czech automaker in the domestic market. Skoda reported that its sales performance during the first half of 2026 marked the highest first-half figures recorded across its operations in India, driven heavily by strong consumer demand across its expanded portfolio.
Sales Milestones and Volume Growth
By August 2026, the company crossed the 50,000-unit sales threshold for the calendar year, representing an increase of more than 8 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2025. This momentum builds upon the brand's previous annual sales high of 72,655 vehicles achieved during the full 2025 calendar year.
The volume surge has been anchored by locally manufactured vehicles tailored for the domestic market. Cumulative sales for Skoda's locally produced models, encompassing the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia, have officially surpassed 2.5 lakh units. Among these, the Kylaq sub-brand has emerged as a major volume driver, alone clearing 75,000 units in cumulative sales.
Portfolio Expansion and Retail Footprint
Alongside volume growth, the automaker has steadily widened its commercial presence and product offerings throughout 2026. The current Indian lineup features mainstream models such as the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq, alongside performance-oriented variants including the Octavia RS and Kodiaq RS.
The company also introduced several new configurations during the year, including the Kylaq Sportline and the Classic+ and Prestige+ trim levels. To support this expanding product portfolio, Skoda has scaled its retail and service network to more than 345 touchpoints spread across 193 cities nationwide.
The recently launched Kylaq remains exempt from the price adjustment until bookings hit the 33,333 milestone, which the company noted are filling up rapidly. Furthermore, the automaker has emphasized Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets in its retail footprint growth.
Cost Pressures and Implementation Timeline
Rising operational and material expenses forced the decision to pass partial cost pressures onto consumers via the impending October price adjustment. The revised ex-showroom pricing structures take effect immediately at the start of October 2026 across authorized dealerships, applying to prospective retail bookings while established retail campaigns and new model rollouts continue to progress.
