Genesis has launched a seventeen-day special exhibition at Genesis Suji in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, marking the domestic debut of its inaugural ultra-large flagship electric SUV, the GV90. Running from September 11 through September 27, the multi-floor showcase follows the vehicle's global premiere in San Francisco last month and gives South Korean customers their first direct look at the brand's new electric flagship ahead of commercial sales.
Developed from the Neolun Concept introduced in 2024, the GV90 occupies a pivotal position in Hyundai Motor Group's overarching electrification strategy. The ultra-large sport utility vehicle is engineered on the flagship-exclusive eMP platform and is positioned to challenge established luxury competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and the BMW iX in international markets.
Multi-Floor Exhibition Showcases Seven Display Vehicles
The special exhibition utilizes every floor of the Genesis Suji multi-story facility, displaying a total of seven vehicles alongside interactive technology zones. The display lineup features one GV90 Neolun First Edition, three GV90 Neolun models, and three standard GV90 vehicles. Visitors are guided through structured zones highlighting exterior CMF finishes, spatial design philosophy, and advanced engineering systems before the vehicle officially enters retail sales.
The ground floor is dedicated to the GV90 Neolun First Edition, which serves as the top-tier limited run model for VIP patrons. This exclusive variant features a two-tone exterior combining Vik Black and Sonoran Navy, paired with 24-inch diamond-cut dish-type forged wheels. Inside, the cabin incorporates Majestic Purple and Regal Navy color schemes, alongside exclusive badging etched onto the Crystal Sphere integrated controller, seat headrests, and door entry thresholds.
Neolun Arch Gate and B-Pillarless Engineering
A centerpiece of the exhibition is the third-floor display of the GV90 Neolun alongside the Neolun Arch Gate. Genesis engineers have implemented the world's first independently opening hidden B-pillar coach doors, allowing front and rear entryways to open facing each other without an obstructing structural pillar.
To achieve this configuration without compromising structural rigidity, designers developed a novel dual-motion hinge mechanism. The hardware first moves the rear door outward before executing a rotation, enabling independent operation for both front and rear portals while creating an expansive cabin threshold. The venue also exhibits a dedicated documentary chronicling the engineering development of the door mechanism and the B-pillarless body structure.
Design Philosophy Inspired by Korean Moon Jars
The stylistic language of the GV90 draws direct inspiration from traditional Korean moon jars, translating minimalist ceramic contours into automotive form. The second-floor Design Zone details this creative genesis, allowing visitors to inspect the Wing Face MLA headlamps that reinterpret the brand's signature two-line lighting graphic alongside intricate jewel-inspired cabin details.
Interior spatial architecture emphasizes acoustic isolation and tactile luxury. The cabin integrates a Bang & Olufsen Premier 3D sound system equipped with Dolby Atmos processing, which takes advantage of the vehicle's enhanced acoustic architecture to deliver an immersive listening environment for occupants seated across all rows.
Advanced Infotainment and Safety Technology Integration
Underpinning the GV90's electronic architecture is the next-generation Pleos Connect infotainment platform, paired with a pop-up center OLED cinematic display. The technology suite manages vehicle telemetry, cabin climate, and entertainment functions through a streamlined interface designed specifically for the flagship eMP electric vehicle platform.
Safety engineering features include the world's first deployment of roof-mounted airbags designed to protect occupants across all three seating rows during rollover and side-impact scenarios. Technical displays on the second floor allow visitors to examine the integration of these safety systems alongside the underlying eMP chassis layout.
Commercial Strategy and Upcoming Market Launch
A Genesis representative said, "We have prepared an opportunity to introduce the GV90 to South Korean customers first ahead of its official sales launch, adding that through this special exhibition, we hope South Korean customers will more deeply experience not only the GV90's design and innovative technology, but also Genesis's unique hospitality philosophy and differentiated spatial experience.
The exhibition facility operates daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a scheduled closure on the day of the Chuseok holiday. Industry analysts view the seventeen-day showcase as a critical barometer for gauging domestic consumer demand and luxury buyer reception before Genesis announces formal pricing and dealership delivery timelines.
