Three Pilgrims Killed in Vizianagaram Crash Near Temple Route

A speeding lorry struck a stationary SUV in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram district early Tuesday, resulting in the death of three pilgrims. The victims were part of a group of 13 people from Majjipeta village in Padmanabham mandal who were traveling to the Maa Majhighariani temple in Rayagada. The impact occurred while the vehicle was parked near Chelluru, leaving several other passengers with serious injuries who were then rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.

In a separate incident in Jammu and Kashmir, 39 Amarnath pilgrims narrowly escaped a major tragedy when their bus crashed into a residential house. The vehicle reportedly lost control in the Ganderbal district, but prompt emergency response prevented any fatalities among the passengers despite the significant impact. Local authorities have initiated a preliminary investigation into the mechanical failure or driver error that led to the accident during the high-security pilgrimage season.
