UMANG Platform Surpasses 11 Crore Registered Users Nationwide

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has reported that the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance, known as UMANG, has achieved a significant milestone with over 11.66 crore registered users. The platform has facilitated approximately 798 crore transactions across its various services over the last three years. This surge in engagement underscores the increasing digitisation of government services across the country.

The platform's rapid growth stems from its design as a single point of access for diverse citizen-centric services ranging from healthcare and education to provident fund management. By consolidating multiple government portals into a unified mobile interface, the ministry has successfully reduced the friction traditionally associated with accessing public services. Widespread smartphone penetration and improved internet accessibility have further acted as catalysts for these high transaction volumes.

This trajectory suggests that the government will continue to prioritize the expansion of features on the UMANG platform to improve public service accessibility. Future updates likely focus on integrating advanced artificial intelligence for service recommendations and increasing the number of regional languages supported by the application.
