Telangana Health Department Urges Calm Amid Seasonal COVID Rise

The Health Department of Telangana has assured the public that there is no cause for concern regarding a recent increase in COVID-19 cases across the state. Dr B. Ravinder Nayak, Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, stated that the current rise represents a mild seasonal uptick consistent with trends recorded during the same period last year. Authorities confirmed there is no evidence of increased disease severity or the emergence of new variants of concern.

State health officials maintain continuous surveillance in coordination with the Government of India and follow guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Assessments conducted by expert agencies, including the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, indicate no national emergency from the current situation. Meanwhile, neighbouring Andhra Pradesh has also reported a minor increase in active cases, prompting hospitals to prepare designated isolation beds and medical supplies.

Health authorities advise elderly citizens and individuals with underlying health conditions to practice basic precautions such as avoiding crowded or poorly ventilated spaces. These preventive measures address respiratory illnesses commonly prevalent during the ongoing influenza season. Government hospitals across affected states remain fully equipped with testing kits, medicines, and dedicated beds to manage potential patient inflows.
