Supreme Court to Monitor NTA Throughout Year After NEET-UG Leak

The Supreme Court of India has committed to a year-long monitoring process to oversee structural reforms within the National Testing Agency (NTA). Chief Justice DY Chandrachud emphasized that the court cannot allow the current state of exam management to persist following the 2024 NEET-UG paper leak row. The bench aims to institutionalize these reforms to ensure that the sanctity of national-level competitive exams is never compromised again. The Central Government informed the apex court that it is ready to walk 10 extra miles to address the grievances of students and fix systemic flaws. The NTA and the Centre have been directed to file a comprehensive affidavit detailing the progress made by the high-level committee led by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan. This committee is tasked with reviewing the NTA's internal security protocols and suggesting technological upgrades to prevent data breaches. The government maintains that while localized leaks occurred, the entire examination was not sufficiently tainted to warrant a complete re-test.
