Sunny Deol Action Film Parshuram Postponed To 2027 Release

The large-scale action thriller Parshuram, starring Sunny Deol, has been officially postponed until 2027. The project faced a significant hurdle after director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat committed to his Hollywood debut. Bhat, who gained acclaim for the film Kill, has signed on to direct Deadlocked for Amazon MGM Studios, featuring Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx. The production houses, Madhu Mantena and Mythri Movie Makers, are now evaluating whether to wait for Bhat's return or recruit a new director to helm the project.

Despite the delay of Parshuram, Sunny Deol remains focused on a packed 2026 schedule. Colleagues have recently lauded his extreme professionalism, noting that he returned to film sets immediately after the passing of his father, the legendary actor Dharmendra. This dedication has kept several high-profile projects on track. Deol is currently preparing for the release of Lahore 1947 on August 14, followed by the highly anticipated Ramayana, where he portrays Lord Hanuman, scheduled for a November release.

Financial analysts are predicting a record-breaking year for the veteran actor, suggesting he could dethrone Ranveer Singh as the highest-grossing Bollywood star of 2026. With a lineup that includes Lahore 1947, Gabru, and Antony, Deol's cumulative box office collections are expected to reach unprecedented heights. Additionally, the actor is slated to appear alongside Aamir Khan on the grand premiere of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18. This television appearance is expected to provide a massive promotional boost to his upcoming theatrical releases.
