Saurav Das Moves Delhi HC Over Doxing and Privacy Violation

Saurav Das, the spokesperson for Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP), has approached the Delhi High Court seeking urgent intervention against the public disclosure of his residential address. The petition names analyst Abhijit Iyer Mitra and several media platforms for allegedly revealing his private location on social media. Das contends that such disclosures, often referred to as doxing, violate his fundamental right to privacy and expose him to potential physical harm and harassment from hostile actors online.

The dispute began after several posts surfaced on social media platforms that specifically identified Das’s home address during a period of heated public debate. Das argues that the intentional sharing of this information was meant to intimidate him and silence his advocacy work. He is seeking a court order to compel the removal of these details from all digital platforms and to restrain the respondents from further disseminating his personal information.
