Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 Launch in London

Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled its eighth-generation foldable lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The collection features the first-ever Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which measures just 4.1 millimetres thick when unfolded and weighs 215 grams. Alongside the Ultra model, Samsung introduced the redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a new 4:3 aspect ratio and the compact Galaxy Z Flip 8. All three devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, designed to handle intensive multitasking and generative AI workloads.

The 2026 series marks a significant shift toward agentic AI, which anticipates user needs and automates complex tasks. A new feature called Now Nudge suggests actions like adding dinner plans from messages directly to the calendar. The Gemini Notebook tool allows users to summarize meeting minutes and convert audio recordings into presentation slides or videos. For creative users, the My FanCam feature automatically reframes video footage around a specific subject. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 also receives an upgraded FlexWindow, providing more intuitive access to personalized information cards without unfolding the device.

Samsung identifies India as a primary market where users increasingly leverage foldables for high-level productivity and professional content consumption. The company refined the display tension and edge design of the new series to enhance durability and minimize the screen crease, addressing long-standing consumer concerns. Third-party accessory makers like dbrand and PITAKA have already announced specialized protective cases to safeguard these premium investments. As these devices enter the Indian market, they are expected to consolidate Samsung's leadership in the luxury smartphone segment by offering a more polished, tablet-like experience.
