Russian Missile Strikes Kill Eight Across Ukraine Amid Rising Conflict

Russia launched a large-scale ballistic missile and drone attack across multiple regions in Ukraine, resulting in at least eight civilian deaths and dozens of injuries. The heaviest casualties occurred in Kryvyi Rih within the Dnipropetrovsk region, where a direct missile strike on a residential house killed six people, including four children and their parents.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Moscow deployed over 70 missiles and more than 280 attack drones, with air defenses intercepting a significant portion. The Russian Defence Ministry stated that the extensive strikes targeted military production facilities and ports, while Ukrainian forces executed counter-drone operations against Russian military assets and supply depots.

The heavy bombardment prompted Poland to scramble fighter jets and heighten air defense readiness after an unidentified object briefly entered its airspace.
