Russia and Ukraine Exchange Lethal Drone and Missile Strikes

Russian and Ukrainian forces exchanged intense drone and missile bombardments over the weekend, resulting in at least 13 deaths and dozens of injuries across Ukraine. Ukrainian regional authorities reported significant residential and infrastructure damage in Kharkiv, the Kyiv region, Odesa, and Donetsk, where a multi-story apartment block collapse killed multiple civilians including a three-year-old boy.

Retaliatory Ukrainian drone attacks targeted Russian border areas, hitting the Belgorod and Krasnodar regions while also striking the Ilsky and Syzran oil refineries to disrupt fuel supplies. Russian military officials stated that their airstrikes successfully hit military warehouses, communications equipment, and vessels supporting Ukrainian operations in Odesa and Mykolaiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of threatening international food security by intentionally targeting the strategic port infrastructure in Odesa. The escalating frequency of high-impact infrastructure strikes threatens to further destabilize energy supplies and agricultural export corridors across Eastern Europe.
