Rahul Gandhi Slams Paper Leak Industry at Student Rally

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi addressed a large gathering of students at the Chhatron Ki Goonj programme in Dehradun, labeling the recurring paper leak incidents across India as a systemic industry. He specifically cited a price of ₹40 lakh for a leaked NEET UG question paper and claimed that advanced technology is being exploited to facilitate these breaches. He emphasized that these leaks have significantly disrupted the futures of millions of students over the last decade.

During the event, Rahul Gandhi advocated for a comprehensive overhaul of the examination process. His proposals include the implementation of randomized question papers to negate the effectiveness of leaks and a stringent legal framework to ensure the punishment of those responsible for compromising academic integrity. He alleged that the current education system is fundamentally compromised and requested the exit of the Union Education Minister, while also supporting dialogue between the Centre and Sonam Wangchuk regarding regional educational issues.

The rally was marked by a fatal accident when a temporary structure collapsed, resulting in the death of a Congress worker who was struck by an iron rod. This incident has added a somber tone to the student-led protest movement. Moving forward, the opposition remains focused on pressuring the government for legislative accountability regarding the exam process, arguing that the lack of punitive action against past perpetrators has emboldened those responsible for ongoing academic malpractices.
