Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas has signed on to star opposite Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly. The high-stakes project is directed by Nimród Antal, known for Predators and Stranger Things, with a screenplay written by David Frigerio, William Eubank, and Carlyle Eubank. Highland Film Group is overseeing worldwide rights and will launch international sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival, with principal photography scheduled to begin on Australia's Gold Coast.

The narrative centers on a grieving United Nations translator who becomes entangled in a covert black-ops mission in the Congo. The team ventures deep into militia-controlled territory to retrieve a mysterious aircraft that officially does not exist, only for the covert journey to transform into a dangerous fight for survival. Producers backing the film include Michael Jefferson, David Frigerio, Deborah Glover, Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier, and Vanessa Yao Guo, with Highland Film Group executives comparing the tone and depth to Denis Villeneuve's Arrival.

This international casting announcement arrives on the heels of several major career milestones for Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who was recently confirmed for the survival thriller Reset alongside Orlando Bloom. Her recent global credits include Prime Video's action film Heads of State and The Bluff, which earned her a Critics Choice Super Awards nomination.
