PM Modi Inaugurates Healthcare Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹4,700 Crore In Chandigarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a suite of major healthcare infrastructure projects to the nation in Chandigarh on Friday, July 17. With a total investment exceeding ₹4,700 crore, these facilities are designed to significantly bolster tertiary care services in the region. The inauguration included the Advanced Mother and Child Centre and the Advanced Neurosciences Centre, both of which are expected to provide specialized treatment options that were previously limited in scope.

In addition to the completed centers, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for a new 150-bed Critical Care Block at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). This expansion is part of a broader national effort to enhance the country's capacity to handle complex medical cases. By focusing on maternal, child, and neurological health, the government aims to reduce the burden on existing facilities and improve patient outcomes through state-of-the-art medical technology and infrastructure.

These projects represent a significant step toward decentralizing high-quality medical care. By concentrating resources in key regional hubs like Chandigarh, the government intends to provide specialized services to a larger population, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for advanced treatment.
