The regional party expressed grave concerns that the current deadline, which was set for August 19, 2026, would disenfranchise thousands of citizens. Large parts of the state are currently grappling with severe flood disruptions that have cut off communication and transport to local administrative centers. Heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers have significantly hampered the administrative process in several districts of Odisha.
