Motorola Edge 70 Max Debuts In India With AI-Powered Qira Ecosystem

Motorola has officially launched its premium flagship smartphone, the Motorola Edge 70 Max, in India. The device features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and a substantial 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery. Priced from an effective Rs 49,999 after bank offers, the handset aims to challenge competitors by integrating advanced hardware with the new cross-device AI platform, Qira. The phone will be available starting July 20 through Flipkart, the company’s website, and retail outlets.

The company positions the Motorola Edge 70 Max as a high-performance device tailored for intensive workloads and entertainment. Its 2K Quad HD+ AMOLED display supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 7,000 nits peak brightness, and 10-bit colour depth. To manage thermals, the phone includes a 5,500 sq mm vapour chamber with liquid metal cooling. The camera setup is headlined by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation, while the AI ecosystem, Qira, is designed to bridge the connectivity gap between Motorola smartphones and Lenovo PCs.

With this launch, Motorola is signaling a pivot toward an integrated AI-driven ecosystem. The Qira platform supports features like meeting summarisation and seamless task handoffs across devices, which Motorola intends to expand via future software updates. The phone will retail in three Pantone-validated colour variants, targeting premium buyers with bundled Jio service offers and cloud storage subscriptions. This release highlights a broader industry shift where manufacturers are prioritizing proprietary AI assistants and ecosystem interconnectivity to differentiate their offerings within the highly competitive Indian smartphone market.
