MG Hector Tomahawk EV and Ather Konarc Set for Late August Launches

JSW MG Motor India will launch its first ADAPT platform-based SUV, the Hector Tomahawk EV, on August 26, 2026. An undisguised test mule of this seven-seater vehicle was recently spotted during a commercial shoot in Pune, exposing its final design. Concurrently, domestic two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy is preparing to introduce its longest-range electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, on August 29, 2026. The Konarc represents a major step forward for Ather. It will reportedly debut in six distinct variants to target different segments of the Indian electric vehicle market.

JSW MG Motor built the Hector Tomahawk EV on its new Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology, or ADAPT. The vehicle borrows heavily from the Wuling Eksion sold in Indonesia. It features a 69.2 kilowatt-hour battery pack that powers a front-mounted motor producing 201 horsepower. This setup delivers a driving range of up to 530 kilometers under testing cycles. The Ather Konarc scooter also aims to solve range anxiety. It will offer a maximum range of 200 kilometers per charge. This makes the Konarc the longest-range scooter in Ather Energy's product line.

The Hector Tomahawk EV will likely carry a price tag between 18 lakh and 25 lakh rupees. This pricing strategy positions the electric SUV to directly challenge competitors like the Mahindra XEV 9S and the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV. Consumers can expect high-end interior features. These include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, advanced driver assistance suites, and six standard airbags. The dual launches from JSW MG and Ather will accelerate India's transition to clean mobility. These models will offer buyers more competitive options in both the two-wheeler and four-wheeler electric segments.
