MeitY And NITI Aayog Partner To Drive Multilingual AI In Governance

The Digital India BHASHINI Division operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has officially signed a Statement of Intent with NITI Aayog to advance multilingual voice-first artificial intelligence solutions. This collaboration under the BHASHINI for Seva Sanchalan initiative aims to promote inclusive governance and citizen-centric public services across India by breaking down language barriers in administrative portals.

This strategic partnership forms a core component of India's accelerated push to strengthen its overarching technology and semiconductor ecosystem. The national push features twelve approved semiconductor projects across six states with investment commitments exceeding Rs 1.64 lakh crore, alongside the Semicon 2.0 scheme which expands government backing into chip design and research.

Public sector stakeholders expect this integration to significantly optimize service delivery for regional language speakers throughout the country. Administrative bodies will leverage these voice-first tools to ensure rural citizens can access government benefits without literacy or language hurdles by the end of the fiscal year.
