Karnataka Government Explores AI Partnership With Anthropic For Governance

The Government of Karnataka is actively exploring a strategic partnership with the US-based AI safety and research company Anthropic. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar recently engaged in discussions to leverage Anthropic's expertise in developing secure and ethical AI models for public governance. The move is part of Karnataka's broader vision to maintain its lead as India's premier deep-tech hub by integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence into its administrative and developmental frameworks, ensuring that the state's 'Silicon Valley' status remains unchallenged.

One of the primary areas of focus for this collaboration is the improvement of security in state-conducted examinations and government systems. D.K. Shivakumar specifically sought Anthropic's guidance on how AI could be deployed to reduce fraud and prevent the leakage of question papers, a persistent issue that affects millions of students and job seekers.
