JSW MG Motor India Launches Hector Tomahawk EV With 517km Range

JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the Hector Tomahawk EV, expanding its electric vehicle footprint in the Indian market. The SUV is equipped with a 69.2kWh battery pack, which the company claims provides a range of 517km on a single charge. The vehicle is positioned to compete in the premium electric SUV segment, offering a blend of performance and range that targets long-distance commuters and tech-savvy buyers.

The pricing strategy for the Hector Tomahawk EV is flexible, with entry points starting at ₹13.99 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. Other reports suggest an ex-showroom price range between ₹16.74 lakh and ₹23.49 lakh, depending on the variant. This launch coincides with a broader surge in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, which reached 1.78 lakh units in August 2026, signaling strong consumer appetite for electric mobility across different vehicle categories.

The automotive sector in India is witnessing significant growth, with domestic passenger vehicle sales jumping 34% year-on-year in July 2026. Regional data highlights that Maharashtra has emerged as the largest market for passenger vehicles, while Uttar Pradesh leads in two-wheeler sales.
