Original voice actor Jim Cummings has confirmed that neither he nor Terry McGovern will reprise their iconic roles in Disney's upcoming reboot of the animated series 'Darkwing Duck'. Cummings revealed the casting decision during an interview with Collider while discussing his work on 'Coyote vs. Acme'. According to Cummings, Disney has opted to hire new actors to voice both Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack.

The original 'Darkwing Duck' animated series debuted in 1991 and ran for 91 episodes across three seasons, according to historical television production records. Cummings previously returned to voice the character in Disney's 'DuckTales' reboot, which aired from 2017 to 2021. Development on a dedicated 'Darkwing Duck' reboot was first reported in 2020.

I hope they get…everything they deserve. Crazy, I don’t know what to tell you.”
