Delhi Police Flag AI Misinformation: 2,800 Criminals Identified At Protest

Delhi Police have officially requested social media platforms to remove hundreds of posts linked to the recent Jantar Mantar protests. Authorities allege these posts contain AI-generated abusive content and misinformation specifically targeting the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Investigators have issued notices under the Information Technology Act to various platforms to curb the spread of material that could disturb public order. A dedicated monitoring team is working around the clock to identify and block objectionable content, including over 400 social media handles allegedly linked to foreign interests.

Using advanced facial recognition systems and technical surveillance, the Delhi Police identified 2,873 individuals with criminal records present at the protest site between July 20 and July 25. These individuals include persons previously accused of serious offenses such as murder and sexual assault. Police are currently investigating whether any of these identified persons were involved in the violence reported during the student-led agitation. Meanwhile, representatives from the Cockroach Janta Party and senior advocate Kapil Sibal held a press conference to raise concerns over the mass detention of protesters and announced plans for legal support.

In a positive medical update, a 21-year-old woman admitted to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in critical condition is showing steady recovery. Doctors confirmed she has been extubated and is now breathing independently, though she remains under close multidisciplinary observation. Separately, in Kerala, the Democratic Youth Federation of India organized a march to the residence of T.G. Mohandas. The protest followed Mohandas's controversial YouTube remarks where he allegedly claimed he would have shot the Jantar Mantar protesters if he had been in control.
