Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Home in West Bank Village

A group of approximately 50 Israeli settlers from the illegal Esh Kodesh outpost attacked a Palestinian family home in the West Bank village of Qusra on Friday, August 29, 2026. Witnesses described a violent scene where settlers surrounded the Abu Rezeq residence, hurled rocks, and attempted to ignite the property. The incident resulted in significant damage to the home, including smashed windows and ruined water tanks, while the settlers also targeted agricultural land and a vehicle nearby.

This assault marks the second such occurrence within a week, as the same family was targeted by settlers from the same outpost on August 25. Qusra has become a recurring site of friction due to its close proximity to the Esh Kodesh outpost. While international and Israeli law classify the outpost as illegal, it remains a focal point for persistent settler violence against surrounding Palestinian communities.

The attack prompted swift condemnation from Israeli leadership, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stating the violence is unacceptable and violates state values. Defence Minister Yoav Gallant subsequently directed security forces to locate and apprehend the individuals responsible. Despite this, local reports indicate that while Israeli forces eventually arrived to disperse Palestinian residents who gathered to protect their property, they failed to intervene against the settlers at the height of the attack.
