Israeli Forces Launch West Bank Raids After Deadly Clash

Israeli military forces launched sweeping raids across the occupied West Bank, focusing on the village of Tell near Nablus, following a deadly clash involving settlers and Palestinians. The violence resulted in the deaths of two Israelis and four Palestinians, including four cousins identified as Farouk, Ibrahim, Jawad, and Imran Ramadan. The slain Israelis were named as Benayahu Mellet from the Havat Gilad settlement and soldier Yuval Ezra. At least four other individuals sustained injuries during the initial exchange of fire.

The escalation followed a settler attack that provoked violent exchanges and drew immediate military intervention across multiple Palestinian towns. In response to the deaths, Israeli forces detained more than 70 suspects across the West Bank and arrested at least 80 individuals in Tell alone. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered military demolitions, tighter traffic restrictions on Palestinians, and plans to legalize unauthorized farming outposts while postponing soldier leave.

The latest security sweep compounds an already intensifying conflict in the West Bank, where United Nations figures recorded 230 Palestinian deaths caused by Israeli forces and settlers in the previous year. Troops enforced severe lockdowns and searched medical facilities in Nablus alongside raids in Jenin and Tubas. International monitors watch closely as the security situation threatens to ignite wider regional instability.
